truth nine.

People often subscribe to the idea that when the calendar year changes, something in the atmosphere changes.  Like my will to eat better or my career choices will change when the clock strikes 12?  Really, will it?  Nope.  It’s all about your mindset.

Your mindset is all about your self-perceptions or beliefs you hold about yourself. This determines your behavior and outlook.  Better yet, your attitude toward who you are and what you can do, not the date on the calendar. Don’t get me wrong, setting dates help hold you accountable for when you start, but honestly, we have to make the decision and commitment day to day, moment by moment to keep going.

Am I saying not to set goals for the new year?  Not at all. Set realistic goals and in order to reach the goals, you must change your mindset.  Think positive! Take small steps toward your goal or go cold turkey, it’s all in what works for you.

People ask me often, what am I doing for weight loss, business success, etc.  I had a mindset shift.  I didn’t set out to lose weight, I made a decision to focus on my health, the weight loss came with it.  I didn’t set out to have a successful business, I decided to live on purpose.  I set realistic goals and worked toward them, one month at a time, one day at a time.  I am doing the work and the rest follows.

So how are you shifting your mindset in this season?  Take a moment to think it through.  Share your goals with a circle of folks that will hold you accountable, encourage you and help you up when you’ve fallen off.

Cheers to your success in changing your mindset in the days to come. 🥂

Happy New Year.  Happy New You! 🥰
